Community & Academic Work


-Josh graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in History.

-In 2015, Josh was appointed by the Chapel Hill Town Council to the Chapel Hill Cultural Arts Commission. In 2018 he was elected Vice-Chair of the Board. If you have ideas about Public Art in Chapel Hill, please reach out. Our meetings are every 3rd Wednesday at the Chapel Hill Public Library at 5:30P.M. and are open to the public. 

-In 2018 Josh was appointed by the Chapel Hill Town Council to serve as a Community Member on the Assessment Center Panel as part of the search process for the new Town Manager.

-Josh earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill's School of Government, with a focus on Nonprofit Management. He currently works at an International Public Health Nonprofit based in Chapel Hill.

-Josh taught and was a dorm parent at The Outdoor Academy, a SACS-accredited semester school program in Western North Carolina. Josh designed and taught a high school music class that focused on Folk music from the Southern United States, specifically the Appalachian mountains. The course combined technique and repertoire with study of historical musical influences on folk music and a cultural analysis of the music's production and consumption. He also team taught a World History class, assisted with wilderness programming and created and managed the school's social media presence and blog.
